The Jeffery A. Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service is a continuation of the courteous and efficient service initiated by Arthur W. Treffinger, Sr. in 1909. The original funeral home was located at 24 N. Ambler Street, Quakertown. Later known as the Treffinger House, this is where the funeral home offices and family services center were located until June of 2010. The former funeral home located at 20-22 N. Ambler Street, was a private residence before it was remodeled in 1939 to the funeral home. The funeral home has seen many changes, and it was remodeled in 1996. This facility served us well for 31 years and will always be remembered with great fondness.
The North Ambler Street Location
In August 1978, the funeral home was purchased by Jeffrey A. Naugle from Arthur W. Treffinger, Jr. Mr. Treffinger worked with his father in the funeral service for over 40 years, assuming management of the business following his father's death in 1969.
The funeral facilities were comfortably equipped to accommodate the various forms of remembrance services designed by those who care the most. Music could be personalized through CDs, cassettes, or skilled musicians. DVDs or videos could be played during visitations. Displays of pictures and memorabilia were encouraged.
The Treffinger House provided a warm home-like environment for the family to gather while considering options for ceremonies and view the diverse selection of merchandise available to compliment the arrangements. The funeral home offices located on the second floor served as a resource center for information relative to decisions and selections associated with the funeral ceremony.
After one-hundred years of service at the North Ambler Street location, Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral Home, renamed Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, relocated to the present facility at 135 West Pumping Station Road in Richland Township on June 1, 2010. Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral and Cremation Service will continue to provide the personal and attentive service that has always been a part of the former Treffinger Funeral Home and the Jeffrey A. Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service.
